feasibility

Once we've confirmed you can have a H@H ADU, we conduct a formal Feasibility Study to determine utility and infrastructure requirements, giving you a clear idea of what you can build and the anticipated costs.

Our "Design - Permit - Build" process is
straightforward and efficient:

With Hiatus at Home, the team is with you at every step

build

You work directly with our designer and expert team to select a floorplan that best fits your needs and your property, choose your fixtures and finishes and then we personalize a site plan for your new H@H ADU.

With your personalized site plan and engineered floorplan in hand, we submit your project to the local jurisdiction for permitting. Once permits are approved, which typically takes 2-3 months, construction begins.

We'll introduce you to your Hiatus-Certified builder and begin construction on your Hiatus at Home ADU. Our ADUs are stick-built on your site and typically take about 4-6 months to complete.

What are the legal requirements and permits needed for an ADU?

1

Financing options for ADUs include home equity lines of credit (HELOC), cash-out refinancing, construction loans, and even some specialized ADU financing products. We have an amazing network of preferred lenders that we work with and are happy to introduce you to the right team based on your unique scenario.

How do I finance the construction of an ADU?

Our average build time ranges from about 8 to 12 months, depending on local permitting timelines and the complexity of the site. This timeframe includes feasibility, planning, permitting, and construction phases.
